The late Kevin Nolan

We were very shocked to hear of the passing of our dear friend, Kevin Nolan. He is a big loss to us at the centre. Kevin volunteered at the Dr Martin since we opened in September 2012.We can never thank Kevin enough for all he did for us. Kevin and his wife, Mary, came every Wednesday at 1.oo pm to set up all his equipment, then sat down to have the chat with the men before playing. Kevin helped to organised the music every week and was liked and respected by everyone. He loved to see the older people of the community happy and never accepted praise. He  will be deeply missed by us all here at the centre, and we would like to extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Mary, his sons Shane and David, and all his family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

We have decided to change the date of the previously-announced June Mass to September; a date will be announced nearer the time. Mass will be held in the centre in remembrance of all our deceased members of the Dr Martin Day Centre , Kevin Nolan, Kathleen Keane, Betty O’Keefe, Tommy Lennon, Paddy and Myra Butler, Bean de Paor, Mick Cuddihy, Joe Loftus, Eileen Coffey, Anne Kiely, Freddy Kelly, Mrs Duggan ,Billy Delaney. All members of the community welcome, in particular families of the deceased.

Tuesday the 21st of June is our flower arranging day; many thanks to Colette from Bláthanna for continuing this service, as she has moved premises to Dungarvan shopping centre. We wish her all the best of luck in her new venture from all at the Dr Martin Day centre.
Thursday the 23rd of June is our next outing which is a Mystery Tour; any older members of the community wishing to come please book at the centre before next Thursday the 16th of June.

The Third Alice!!!

Yes, at least three Alices can be found at the Martin Centre most days!
This week there was a surprise birthday cake for
ALICE POWER!

We didn't have time to count the candles when blown out,
as the cake was whisked away,
and came back cut up for everyone present to have with a tea-break
during this week's Wednesday Music Session.
Congrats, Alice!
