WORDS FROM ALICE!

We are very saddened to lose a member of our centre Joe Loftus.  Joe was a regular to our centre since we opened, and was a dear friend to both staff and patrons of the Dr Martin. Joe always had a smile and kind word for everyone and was always in good form. Joe particularly loved a chat with everyone and a good game of pool which he would play on a regular occasion when Kyle Crotty was here. Joe is deeply missed by us all in the centre, and we would like to extend our sincere condolences to Joe,s family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
We would like to thank all of the sixth class students of Port law National School for their very kind donation of 250 euro to the Dr Martin Day centre. I think the parents and teachers should be very proud of these young people who donated some of their Confirmation money to the centre. Again thank you all very much; we very much appreciate the kind gesture.
On Thursday the28th of May we visited Mount Juliet for tea and scones and also a talk on the history of Mount Juliet which was very interesting and enjoyable. We then went on to Woodstock and had a picnic and tour of Woodstock. We ended a great day in Carroll’s for dinner and dessert and music with Busty Griffin.  A great day was had by all. More trips are currently being organised and will be advertised at a later date.
Mass will be held on Tuesday the 8th of June here in the Dr. Martin Centre, all are welcome to attend.
